This recording was made by me on monday, october 20th, at approximately 7:30pm. It was done in my house in montgomery county, pa, with a rode ixy mic (the 30 pin version), attached to an iphone 4s. The iphone, with the mic, was placed on the sink, approximately 6 to 8 inches away from the toilet. The sound was recorded using rode's iphone recording software, then uploaded via their file transfer site, downloaded, and then imported to adobe audition cs6 being run on a mac book pro, and normalized.

Recorded on my zoom h4n 44100 hz stereo. This is a short clip of my 11 year old son playing basketball in the driveway at our house. There is ambient road noise. It starts off with a swish, then some dribbling then another swish. This is a rubber basketball bouncing on asphalt with a metal rim, nylon net and wooden backboard.

Today i was cleaning the house on a leisurely sunday, and came across a piece of thicker paper by my printer. When i picked it up to put it in recycling, it was rather loud. There have been many times on jobs where i needed such a sound, and thought it would be a good asset to record and share. Hopefully it comes in handy for others needing this element. An up-close recording of a single cricket chirping. I recorded this with a shure beta 57a microphone, at my house, with the mic a few inches away from one of my housemate's crickets (don't ask). I used cubase and izotope denoise to remove noise artifacts, as well as a low-cut to remove unwanted low freqs. I used some compression and a bit of eq to make it sound like something you'll hear on a gaming console machine. However, the audio spikes from the high freq took me a while to cut off. Can't figure out why it does that but in my opinion it still sounds good :).

Over 6 hours of night ambient shot in the countryside near a house close to the main road. Rain hitting the vines, thunders, village sounds, crickets, occasional cars passing on the road, far thunders with no rain, dogs barking, roosters, all in one unedited take.
